So I finally got to the range with my 1911. The first 50 rounds or so we're great, very accurate compared to my lcr and my buddy's M&P. However, the gun starting jamming soon thereafter. The SR1911 I bought in 2014 has got some CNC cutting issues on the frame which was causing some problems. I have discovered the issue after 10 months using it in competitions. I have contacted Ruger's customer service. Amazingly, Ruger offered me to replace it with a brand new one. So I changed out the stock recoil spring on my sr1911 from stock 18.5# to a 16.5# (wilson combat) since I mostly shoot regular charged range ammo. I thought the difference was significant and was immediately noticable. The pistol felt smoother to me. It was more enjoyable to shoot and less snappy.
